About Job

Reporting to the Security Operations Lead, this role is responsible for monitoring, investigating and responding to cyber security threats across Council systems, networks and applications. You will manage incident triage, threat analysis, vulnerability assessments and remediation activities, while helping strengthen compliance, improve security reporting and support the ongoing development of Hume’s cyber security controls, policies and operational resilience.

About You

You will bring a broad cyber security foundation across areas such as identity, endpoint, vulnerability, network and cloud security, supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent experience. The role suits someone with strong analytical capability, practical incident response experience and familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, Essential Eight, PCI DSS and related governance requirements, combined with the ability to work collaboratively across a complex local government environment.
